Jean-Michel Godeffroy

Career
Jean-Michel Godeffroy is currently an independent consultant with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry. Jean-Michel was Director General at the European Central Bank (ECB), Head of the Payment Systems and Market Infrastructure department between 1998 and 2009, subsequent to which he was appointed as Chairman of the TARGET2-Securities (T2S) Board between 2009 and 2014.
Prior to this, Jean-Michel worked as Deputy Head of the Policy Division of the European Monetary Institute (EMI) (1994-1998) in Frankfurt, as well as serving as Head of Section at the Commission Bancaire (1990-1992) in France. Other institutions for which Jean-Michel has worked include the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Banque de France. He has also served as Economic lecturer at Sciences Po (1983-1989).

- Member of the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems of the G10 countries
- Chairman of the T2S Board for the ECB, Chairman of the T2S Advisory Board (2009-2014)
Education
Jean-Michel graduated from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, and from Sciences Po.
